IRATA (Industrial Rope Access Trade Association - companies that perform industrial rope access works) aim is the national and international promotion and development of the safe system that it has pioneered over the last decade. IRATA aims to support its member companies and trained technicians and to ensure that they work in a safe and effective manner.
The members of Association provides rope access training courses based on compulsory requirements and the certificate allowing to work worldwide is issued after successful completion of courses and assessment.
UAB Gridins enterprise is one of IRATA Association, which has the right to provide training in own training center fulfilling all the requirements of IRATA.
Rope access work can only be carried out in a reliably safe manner where people are competent, suitably experienced and trained; the basic requirements for the three levels are as follows:
Level 1: a technician who is able to perform a limited range of rope access tasks under the supervision of a level 3 supervisor.
Level 2: a lead technician who is capable of rigging working ropes, undertaking rescues and performing other rope access tasks under the supervision of a level 3 supervisor.
Level 3: a technician/supervisor who is capable of complete responsibility for work projects; is able to demonstrate the skills and knowledge required of levels 1 and 2; is conversant with relevant work techniques and legislation; has a comprehensive knowledge of advanced rescue techniques.
Level 3 according IRATA requirements and guidelines could seek Trainer's and Assessor's category.
Pre assessment requirements:
- Minimum age of 18 Years
- Candidates should be free of medical conditions, which may restrict them to carry out this type of work.
- Candidates should be physically able to perform the tasks expected in terms of strength, agility and co-ordination.
- They should also be able to withstand the stresses of the working environment such as heat, cold, and inclement weather.
The candidate successfully passed the examination receives certificate which is valid for three years.
Candidates seeking IRATA Level 2 must be a qualified as Level 1 at least for one year and have 1000 hours of rope access work experience.
Candidates seeking IRATA Level 3 must be qualified as Level 2 at least for one year and have 1000 hours of rope access work experience, able to demonstrate skills and knowledge of Level 1 and Level 2.
